"Horseback Musterer" Handcrafted Corten Steel Art
A good team of dogs and a tough horse make for easier work on the hills of NZ. This high quality Corten metal art handcrafted by NZ artist Summer Brook is the perfect way to add a little 'extra something' to your own slice of paradise!
Summer Brook's unique NZ inspired designs are beautifully detailed and very eye-catching! She cuts each piece by hand with a hand held plasma torch, giving them that 'perfect.... but not too perfect' look and making each one a little different from the last!
Each piece is cut from 3mm Corten Steel. This 'sculptors steel' weathers naturally, giving a beautiful rustic finish. Corten steel is used in garden sculptures and public art installations for its organic appearance. When rusted, Corten weathering steel has a lovely deep brown-red oxide surface. Unlike mild steel, the layer that develops on the exposed surfaces protects the underlying metal from corrosion. Therefore, Corten metal sculptures don't need to be treated in any way prior to installation for longevity.
Please have a look at the 'Changes in Rust Appearance' photo on this page to get an idea of how your metal art will 'age' over time. The appearance will change dramatically if left out in the weather, but will remain 'clean' and not rusty if kept dry and indoors.
This unique steel art is sure to be a huge hit in your household or workplace and will suit outdoor living areas and gardens as well as interior walls.
